MMN Recap: Shervyen Newton, Hayden Senger Stay Hot for Columbia

Moreno is hitting .333 over his last 10 games with nine runs scored in that span. The St. Lucie Mets are in second place in the second half standings with a 15-8 record.

Mitchell made his return from the IL with two scoreless innings, the lefty has allowed only four earned runs in 30.2 innings overall this year.

Newton had his fifth straight multi-hit game. Senger has a ridiculous 29 hits in his last 61 at-bats for Columbia. He has struck out just twice in the month of July.

Gordon, the Mets 32nd rounder this year, has yet to allow a run in seven pro innings.

Brooklyn (13-12) 9, Mahoning Valley (13-13) 0 Box Score

Ranfy AdonLuke Ritter, and Guillermo Granadillo each had two hits in the game. The Cyclones as a team stole five bases.

The Mets signed Valentino as an undrafted free agent from the New York Institute of Technology and he has only five earned runs allowed in 16.1 innings for Brooklyn.

Kingsport (9-12) 11, Princeton (10-11) 1 Box Score

Both Baty and Alvarez have struggled after dominating the Gulf Coast League though they look like they could be adjusting. Scott Ota bashed his second pro homer. Shortstop Jaylen Palmer was on base twice and has a .846 OPS on the season.

The most important number for Otanez is the zero walks. The hard throwing righty walked 24 batters in 35.1 innings last year in the GCL.

GCL Cardinals (5-9) 2, GCL Met (6-6) 1 Box Score

The 20-year-old Saunders signed with the Mets in the offseason, the Bohemian is 7-for-17 to begin his career. Lugo has above average raw power but has struggled to his career after skipping the Dominican Summer League.

DSL Phillies (21-13) 2, DSL Mets (15-19) 0 Box Score

The Mets struck out 11 times and went 0-for-6 with runners in scoring position.

DSL Angels (17-13) 9, DSL Mets (14-16) 4 Box Score
