Sam Dykstra from MiLB Pipeline reports that right-handed starter Chris Flexen has been promoted from High-A St. Lucie to Double-AA Binghamton.

Flexen,22, began his season in St. Lucie after needing knee surgery at the tail end of Spring Training.

In Flexen’s three starts, he has a 2.13 ERA, 1.184 WHIP, and a 9.2 K/9.  While the stats are very good, the most important thing for Flexen is he has not shown any ill effects from his offseason knee surgery.

This past offseason the Mets 2012 14th Round Draft Pick was added to the 40-man roster to protect him from the Rule 5 Draft.  He is MMN‘s 20th ranked prospect in the Mets farm system. With his promotion, he is now the highest ranked pitching prospect in Binghamton.
