One name that was surprisingly left off the list by Baseball America was Andres Gimenez. In 2015, as a 16-year old, Gimenez was signed as a shortstop out of Venezuela for a hefty $1.2 bonus. In his first year of professional baseball, Gimenez showed everyone why the Mets gave him such a large bonus with him hitting .350/.469/.523 in 62 games combined for the Mets Dominican Summer League teams.
Overall, when true high-end prospects like Gimenez are left off the Top 10 list, it speaks to the quality of the Mets farm system, and it gives you hope that the Mets current run of success can continue well into the future as the major league team is being reinforced with terrific prospects.
