A day after Tim Tebow had a walk-off hit, the Scottsdale Scorpions defeated the Glendale Desert Dogs by a 13-3 final score. The Scorpions were down 2-0 when they came to bat for the first time and responded with ten first inning runs.

Matt Oberste was part of that ten run first as he hit a RBI Double and later scored in the frame. Oberste had his best game in the AFL this season going 2 for 5 with his first extra base hit. Oberste is batting .088 now, but is three for his last nine after not reaching base in his first six games (0-23).

The other two Mets in the lineup were Tebow and Champ Stuart. Both were part of the ten run first as Tebow reached on an error and Stuart hit a RBI Single. Both later scored in the inning as well. Tebow went 1-4 with a walk and a run scored today without striking out. Tebow is now hitting .156 and he has at least a hit in seven of his last ten games.

Stuart was 1-5 in the win with a RBI and a run scored. Main issue with Stuart is still the strikeouts as he struck out three times. Stuart is now 1 for 9 with six strikeouts in his last two games. In his last four games he has struck out nine times. Stuart is still having a solid AFL as he is hitting .327/.352/.462 with eight steals in 14 games played for the speedy center fielder.

On the pitching end the Scorpions got three scoreless innings from Marcos Molina. Molina pitched the fourth, fifth and sixth allowing just two hits. He did not walk a batter and struck out two in another good performance. Molina has pitched to a 3.45 ERA but has only seven strikeouts compared to six walks.
