Mets Minors Recap 8/7: St. Lucie Gets Walk-off Win

Triple-A

Albuquerque 9, Las Vegas 51s (57-59) Box Score

L.J. Mazzilli is now hitting .554 since joining the 51s. T.J. Rivera drove in another run after his five RBI game yesterday. T.J. Rivera leads the league in batting (.347) and is third in RBIs (80).

  • Gabriel Ynoa (L 10-5) 4.0 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 3 K, L (4.42 ERA)

The 51s made four errors that led to four unearned runs. Chase Huchingson pitched a scoreless inning but, Jeff Walters (two unearned) and Chasen Bradford (three earned) allowed runs in their outings. Ynoa was lifted after only 54 pitches because there were two delays when lights went out in the stadium.

Double-A

Binghamton Mets (53-60) 9 – Hartford Yard Goats 2 Box Score

Oberste got the scoring started with an RBI triple in the fourth. The team was 4-10 with RISP. Amed Rosario entered the game in the sixth. He had a walk and an RBI. He made his eighth error in the field.

This was Taylor’s second start in his last three appearances. Roseboom has now pitched 15.1 consecutive scoreless innings.

Class A – Advanced

St. Lucie Mets (59-50) 11 – Bradenton Maurauders 10 Box Score

In a huge fifth inning, St. Lucie batted around rallying from a 6-0 deficit with nine runs. After a blown save, Biondi had the walk-off RBI single.

After a solid start following his demotion, Jannis was hit hard like he has been in AA. Taylor let up a two out RBI double to blow the save and vulture the win.

Class A

Rome Braves 9 – Columbia Fireflies (51-62) 7 Box Score

It was a season high three hits and RBI for Garcia. The Fireflies attempted to come back from a 6-0 deficit and got the go-ahead run to the plate. However, Dash Winningjam would fly out to end the game.

This was Jacobson’s second start since getting called up from Brooklyn. In both starts, he’s allowed six earned runs and pitched under four innings.

Class A – Short Season 

Tri-City Valley Cats 18 – Brooklyn Cyclones (24-25) 4 BOX SCORE

Alonso continues the great start to his pro career.

  • Erik Manoah (L, 5-2) 1.0 IP, 8 H, 10 R, 10 ER, 4 BB, 0 K (5.48 ERA)
  • Gabriel Feliz 1.0 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 3 ER, BB, K (6.39 ERA)

The Valley Cats jumped all over Manoah scoring eight runs in the first.

Rookie

Kingsport Mets (16-28) 18 – Bristol Pirates 5 Box Score

With the huge game, Wolf is hitting .295/.378/.453.

  • Adonis Uceta (W, 3-4) 5.0 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 4 K (6.56 ERA)
  • Jose Miguel Medina 2.0 IP, 5 H, 2 R, ER, 0 BB, K (4.50 ERA)

Uceta sports a 6.56 ERA in eight appearances (seven starts) since getting called-up to Kingsport.

Rookie

With tonight’s big night at the plate, Sanchez is now hitting .357/.402/.511
