Las Vegas 51s (43-39) 8, Tacoma 5  Box Score

After a lackluster performance last night, the 51s came out firing tonight, scoring eight runs on 12 hits. After the victory, the 51s remain 5.5 games out of first place.

Cecchini continues to rake at Triple-A although it is an ominous sign that Wally has him at DH. All these errors have clearly effected his fielding ability from a mental perspective.

  • Gabriel Ynoa RHP: 5.1 IP, 4 ER, 4 K,  (3.92)
  • Paul Sewald RHP: 1.2 IP, K, BB, Win (4-2 3.89)
  • Josh Edgin LHP: 1 IP, H, K (2.50)
  • Chasen Bradford RHP: 1 IP, 2 K S(5) (3.92)

Ynoa continues to produce decent starts in the hitter-friendly PCL. He should be converted to the bullpen where I believe his repertoire will play better.

Binghamton Mets (36-46) 3, New Hampshire 1 Box Score

Behind a stellar performance from journeyman Josh Zeid, the Mets won this one 3-1. Jose Reyes is starting to heat up a bit with a five-game hitting streak.

Rosario collected another hit, he now has at least one hit in 10 out of his 11 games.

St. Lucie (40-37) 4, Palm Beach 2 Box Score

The win brought the St. Lucie team to an even mark of 5-5 in the second half.

Becerra has been on an absolute tear as of late, batting .364 over his last ten games. He also leads the FSL in batting average.

Andrew Church provided another quality start although he is showing inconsistency with his command.

West Virginia 4, Columbia Fireflies (39-42) 0 Box Score

The Fireflies offense had a disappointing game at the dish getting shut-out and only collecting five hits.

With David Thompson getting the day off, the offense struggled in his absence. The Fireflies did not collect an extra base hit in this one.

  • Joe Shaw RHP: 7 IP, 3 ER, 5 K, Loss  (4-6, 4.72)

Shaw tossed seven innings but was tossed around a bit, giving up four runs (three earned) on nine hits.

Brooklyn Cyclones (7-10) 5, Connecticut 4 Box Score

The Cyclones ended their four game losing streak with a much needed victory by a score of 5-4. Connecticut jumped out to 4-0 lead in the 2nd inning and the Cyclones came storming back with runs in the 3rd, 5th, and 6th innings to win it.

After being out since June 24th, Ali Sanchez returned to the lineup with a vengeance, going 3 for 3 with a double.

Gonzalez didn’t have his best start but 10 strikeouts in a short start like this, will jump out to anyone. Not to mention, this was his second start in a row with 10 strikeouts.

Kingsport Mets (3-8) 11 Greeneville Astros 0 Box Score

The Kingsport bats broke out in a big way, scoring 11 runs on 14 hits.

  • Jose Miguel Medina 2 for 5, HR, 3 RBI .237
  • Dionis Rodriguez 2 for 4, HR, 2 RBI, .269

Left fielder, Ian Strom went 1 for 4, the 2016 22nd round draft pick now has a six game hitting streak.

  • Max Wotell LHP: 6 IP, 0 ER, 5 K, Win (1-0, 1.74)

Max Wotell turned in another stellar performance, earning his first victory of his young pro career.

GCL Mets (4-4) 3 GCL Astros 2 F/13 Box Score

This was a long affair going 13 innings, Kenneth Bautista was able to drive in the winning run in the 13th with a sacrifice fly.

Eudor Garcia made his return from a 80 game ban due to PED’s.

The DSL Mets had the day off.
